The Association

The Association was founded on Jan 26th 1989 with the goal to sustain the Classical Dressage as it is taught at the Institute and to preserve it for the future.

The Association works towards keeping the spirit alive of the interaction between man and horse, as taught by Egon von Neindorff and lived and demonstrated by him throughout all of his life.
"If riding is to become an art" as Egon von Neindorff put it, this does not only require sensitive riding on well trained horses, but also thoroughly dealing with the principles of classical riding.

After Egon von Neindorff passed away in 2004, we see it as one of our tasks to keep his memory alive:
A memorial room has been set up with many photos and souvenirs. In the last years the association has organized trips to renowned sites of classical horsemanship in Europe, such as the Spanish Riding School in Vienna/Austria, the State Stud Farm of Piber/Austria (the famed breeding facility of the Lipizzaner horses), the National Stud Farm of Kladruby in Czechia, to Saumur, Versailles, Chanthilly and Moritzburg that have been so eventful that the participants still enthuse about it months later.

The association supports the work of the Egon-von-Neindorff Foundation, in which it holds a statutory seat.
